A nonsense poem by Zeynap inspired by our visit to Jesus College's "Sculpture in the Close" exhibit.
Crime Scene
A fire truck in a crime scene
There is a bee in between
Buzz buzz buzzing
It's a cold spring
People come and see
And say there is a degree to being carefree
The stinky smell is in the air
Oh yeah! There comes the bear
The criminal crimatorous comes and goes
Bows to blow his nose
And wishes a lifetime of wrong
His tail is really strong
Iskambis is a detective
His perspective is really corrective
Karpitus just wants this to end
Then recommend his friend a girlfriend.

Kaleidoscope
There’s a place out there that my soul only knows.
Filled with warmth as the shining dust blows.
You may not know, but the vegetation’s a 100 feet tall.
It does not stop there, listen, I will tell you all.
But don’t just listen, spin your head!
Take a tour around this kaleidoscope
And see if you can cope.
If you snap a running bubble, go ahead!
Go ahead and try – see if you can trap it.
Once you do, shall you dare to wrap around you.
Up, up, up and away we lit.
Oh, look out! There’s a flock behind you!
A flock of ruthless flames burning down our shelter.
And down we go, oh yes, we does.
Eyes wide open, no more than a dreamer.
Forgiveness, I beg, as this place has come to a pause.- Zahra (Major course)
The Toy Shop
The magical toy shop of Mister Mizuxe
Is the place where I find my favorite gazooks
Like the fire-bursting red paper plane
With painted letters: “The Flying Flazame.”
Or the morphing ball of gooey Gleblu?
Or the crazy jump rope colored a strange blue?
In the corner remains the musical Jukelox—
It cannot be turned off— that loud sound box!
The piles of battling board games and majestic mazes,
The piles, the piles— I’ll be here for ages!
Have you played the Werradith? The Wordoid?
Or with the rubber swords, the Voozoids?
I love the glow-in-the-dark train called the Glaretram,
Oh! And the yo-yos that go whip and wham!
